The three core steps

Organisations follow the same journey whether they are food manufacturers, cafés, restaurants, schools or other premises.

1

Choose your tier

Decide whether you qualify as a Nut Free Facility, Nut Free Premises, or in future the audited Always Nut Free tier.

The tier is based on how nuts are managed on site, not on marketing language alone.

2

Declare and register

Complete a structured self‑declaration covering procurement, storage, preparation, staff training and labelling, then register your details.

The declaration is designed to complement, not replace, HACCP and local food safety regulation.

3

Use the mark & appear in the directory

Once approved, you can use the Always Nut Free icons on packs, menus and signage, and your site appears in the public directory and app.

Your tier and status are visible to families so they can make quick, informed decisions.

What the standard covers

The Always Nut Free standard looks at how nuts are controlled across the whole operation, from supplier choice to front‑of‑house communication.

Supply & ingredients

How you choose suppliers, manage specifications and avoid peanuts and tree nuts entering the site or menu.

Production & service

Controls for storage, preparation and service, including cleaning, segregation and change‑over procedures.

People & communication

Staff training, signage, digital listings and how you respond to allergy questions from customers or parents.

Who can register today?

We are onboarding an initial cohort of facilities and premises while the audited tier is being finalised.

Food manufacturers

Sites that never handle peanuts or tree nuts on any line and want to signal a nut‑safe manufacturing environment.

Cafés, restaurants & shops

Premises that do not stock or serve nuts anywhere on site and want a clear, trusted way to show this.

Schools & community sites

Whole‑site nut‑free environments such as schools, clubs or venues that need a simple, recognisable standard.
